It changed again. He noticed it. Did anyone else?! Probably not, given they were alone. He was so determined and forceful and now he was all weak and timid again. What was happening?
Walking to the room, he opened the door and pushed Nie Huaisang back in. He looked at Wen Zhuliu and nodded. "I'm going to meet with my father. Keep an eye on all of them for me." With a small nod, he eyed up everyone in the door before shutting the door behind him.
He took a moment, exhaled slowly and then looked at Xue Yang. He was trying to play it cool but his face was throbbing and his back hurt like crazy. "Why does he want to see me?... Did he say anything about Friday?"
"Eh?" Friday? Xue Yang was somewhat used to Wen Chao spouting nonsense, so he just shrugged and started walking. "I don't know. The old man's not all there these days, he rambled all the time, who is listening?"
Evidently not him. Which was perhaps a bit of an issue given some might consider him a close confidant to a very powerful man, but he truly couldn't bring himself to care that much. "Probably just wants to know about all those brats you're keeping."
"Hey, watch yourself. You can't talk about my father in such a way! He is not rambling, he speaks only with purpose." Wen Chao was a loyal son, if not a useless son. He would do whatever his father told him and he would listen to him above anyone else. He knew his father kept his safe so even if he feared him, this was the right thing to do. Stick where the power was.
"The brats are all just making a fuss. Though I made one of them cry and scream. I got a video." Wen Chao boasted as he walked a safe distance away from Xue Yang. He found the psycho deeply unsettling to be near. He reminded him a lot of his brother. "Is da-ge going to be there too?"
"I dunno. Who needs him?" Not Xue Yang, so he cared very little. Although he also didn't think that anyone needed Wen Chao, ever, so evidently it was all relative. He headed out the door and right for his car, as there was no way that he was getting into whatever thing Wen Chao drove around. Looked like the dumbest toy in the world.
He got into the driver's seat and put his seatbelt on, checking his phone messages and quickly replying to one with a few cute emoji. Then he looked up when Wen Chao got in.
"Zhuliu let me pet the dog." So Wen Zhuliu remained his favourite. He started the car, the music coming back on. He was listening to a melancholy love song, apparently.
"But I have a car! Let's take my car! It self drives, it's so cool. It's a cyber truck!" No, Xue Yang was not listening. Wen Chao pouted for a moment, looked over at his cool car that everyone refused to get into and then huffed, going around to get into Xue Yang's less cool car. It wasn't even electric.
In a huff, he put his seatbelt on and then looked at Xue Yang. "Yeah, it's my dog. He's a real good boy. Bit yappy sometimes but you can fix it by slapping it's nose."
"He wouldn't yap at me. You just have to look at him." Most dogs tended to listen to him then. They were cute too. Maybe he should get a dog. He considered it as he headed into traffic, humming along to the song and tapping the rhythm against the steering wheel.
"What about Friday?" Was there something on Friday? He hadn't been told. He had wanted to have a date night. "I'm busy then."
"Nothing, it's just a good time to have a plan. Cause no one wants to work on the weekend and I was thinking that if my dad wanted to do anything, it's the best time. The banks are closed until Monday so -- yeah." He didn't know why that mattered but Nie Huaisang said it so he copied it without the context. "Maybe we can get a surrender by Friday? Then we could party on Saturday, you know?"
He swallowed hard and then nervously looked at Xue Yang. "But don't ask my dad about Friday, don't bring it up! I'm sure if it's a good idea, he'll say it soooo."
"I have a plan for Friday. I have a date. I don't know what loser wouldn't be busy on a Friday." So, quite frankly, seemed like an awful time for surrendering, but what did he care? He was not showing up because he was not cancelling a date for something as nebulous as a potential surrender and closed banks. Who cared?
"Just tell me when you fight the Nie leader. Though that probably won't be you, right? Anyway, he is fun. He almost killed me once." Good times.
