"I guess we could buy more manga. Will be able to leave the house? I don't want to be killed over drugs..." He looked sideways at Xue Yang as if he'd stab him any moment and then back to his friend, happy that he had an arm around him to keep him safe. He always liked that - he had tried to deny it for a long time and it took forever for it to sink in but he was so, so gay.
And so, so into this beautiful man.
And he would never, ever tell him or he'd probably lose him forever but hey, a boy could dream. "If we can go out, maybe we can go to the mall again."
"You won't be killed over anything like that any more. I paid off any debt you had. I'm sure you can leave, I just-- I'll talk about it with Yao-ge." Maybe he'd have to have guards with him or something? Chenglei frowned as he looked at him, trying to work it out. "We can go to the mall. There's a mall that's really fancy. It's good for dates."
Xue Yang raised his eyebrows at them, honestly baffled. Was Chenglei aware what he was saying? Who even knew. "You should get him a collar, boss."
Chenglei gave him a look, then rolled his eyes. "Ignore him."
"It's hard to ignore him..." He was right there, quite loud and was suggesting the weirdest stuff. That yes, he had seen in a few mangas. Okay, a lot of mangas. Too many. Way too many lonely nights binge reading yaoi and jacking off in his bedroom but it was tough! How was he going to find a date? It was way too hard to find gay guys. And Chenglei was just -- confusing. He wasn't gay, he knew that but he was different in how he spoke sometimes.
Like the way he talked about the mall being good for dates. It wasn't a date but he was happy to talk so openly with him, not afraid he'd be a weird pervert piggy.
"Maybe we can go to the arcade too. You could win me something!"
"Yeah, I could. I'm pretty good at arcade games still." Which, weirdly, had turned out to kind of translate to him being a good shot more than he'd have thought. All these teachers telling him that he was wasting his time at arcades had clearly been wrong. "I have to study and work, but it's not that busy. And I'll make sure you're not bored."
Hopefully the manga and the giant television and game consoles could take care of that. The car turned, finally arriving at his place and now heading into the garage. "Here we are. I know, it's weird. Fancy."
"It's okay, I'm going to study all the time!" He was determined to pass his exams this time and no, he wouldn't let Chenglei cheat him through. He was a determined little piggy who could do anything! He would get through it, he was confident.
As they pulled up, Yihao had no idea what to expect and he couldn't really look out of the window. They were weirdly tilted and Xue Yang was one side, Chenglei the other and it was hard to see it. As they came to a halt, he let Chenglei move his arm and then instantly, he took his hand to make sure they would hold hands. "How fancy is fancy?"
"...you'll see." Chenglei wasn't sure how else to explain it, so he shrugged his shoulders and attempted a reassuring smile, giving Yihao's hand a squeeze before moving to get out of the car.
"Young Master, this is kinda public." Xue Yang piped up, putting a hand on his shoulder. "You just bought a boy, perhaps you shouldn't be skipping and holding hands."
"Ah. Yeah. Good point." He shrugged and looked at Yihao. "Sorry, we have to keep up the act."
"Oh." Yihao nodded and let go of the hand, feeling a bit awkward as he looked around to make sure no one was watching. How did he look like a hostage? He wasn't sure. How did hostages look? What did someone who just got sold to a gangster do with their hands? He looked at Xue Yang, for some reason, needing some guidance so he didn't embarrass Chenglei or cause him any issues.
Xue Yang rolled his eyes and then opened the door, only to grab Yihao and drag him out with him. He forced his arm behind his back easily enough, a bit too high up to make sure he'd not be or look comfortable, and then he marched him to the elevator.
Chenglei followed behind them, feeling awkward, but looking pretty undeterred, so there was that at leas. He walked right into the lift that the guard had called down for him, leaning against the wall while he waited for Xue Yang to lead Yihao inside. He hoped he wasn't actually hurting him.
It didn't hurt much worse than the bullies at school so he just grimaced and tried to walk with Xue Yang, not sure how well he could avoid stepping on his toes. Really, a lot of his agonised expression was just over him watching his own feet but hey, it worked. Once they were inside the lift, he let Xue Yang hold him still as gentle elevator music drifted down. He didn't know when he was allowed to treat Chenglei normally.
As the door open, he turned his head to try and look at Xue Yang. "Is it over yet?"
"Hm, no. Next he'll tie you to the bed and have his wicked way with you," Xue Yang informed him sweetly, causing Chenglei to shake his head quickly.
"Ignore him." This was so embarrassing. Chenglei shoved Xue Yang a little, who laughed and stepped back, then he took Yihao's hand again and led him into his apartment. Well. His penthouse? Something like that. "The top two floors are mine, in this building. It's-- I dunno. It's weird. There's so many rooms I'm not sure what they're for..."
"We can work it out together." With a smile, he happily took Chenglei's hand as they walked into the sparse but massive place with just the best view he had ever seen. Seriously, it was amazing. He looked around, taking in all the sights and the little pieces of Chenglei scattered around before grinning at Chenglei like an idiot.
"It's so massive, you're so rich! Oh! We should build a big fort." Well, he had his priorities.
"A fort?" What an idea. Yihao was still so adorable. So Chenglei just nodded his head, not overly questioning why he was still holding his friend's hand. "If you wanna, sure. We can build a fort."
Whatever he wanted. He'd been through a lot. "What do you want for dinner, Yihao? I have a cook, so-- She can basically make anything you'd want. And she does."
He had worked hard for that, but now she loved him again, so it was all good.
"Uhhh, maybe just something homey. Like dandan noodles."
Smiling at Chenglei, he turned to him and paused, reaching out so he could brush some of Chenglei's hair from his face and properly see his eyes. "I'm sorry I put you out but I'm glad you came to help and I'm glad we'll get to be together again. Maybe now we're together, we can really get to know each other. It was so sort last time." And he wanted to properly enjoy it this time, not get the abridged version.
Chenglei let him brush his hair, not quite sure what he was doing, but seeing no reason not to let him. He looked at him and nodded lightly. "Yeah. Sure."
A few more second passed as he looked into Yihao's eyes, then he wrapped an arm around him and headed for the guest room that had already been prepared. "Lemme show you where you'll sleep."
Xue Yang couldn't believe these two. When would they finally realise?
